Title: Knock Knock

By: Daniel Beaty

Def Poetry, also known as Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry or Def Poetry Jam, which was Co-Founded by Bruce George, Danny Simmons and Deborah Pointer is an HBO television series produced by hip-hop music entrepreneur Russell Simmons. The series presents performances by established spoken word poets, as well as up-and-coming ones. Well-known actors and musicians will often surprise the audience by showing up to recite their own original poems. The show is hosted by Mos Def. Def Poetry is a spin-off of Def Comedy Jam. As he did on Def Comedy, Simmons appears at the end of every episode to thank the audience.

Title: limb 'Til Your Dream Comes True

By: Helen Steiner Rice

Often your tasks will be many,
And more than you think you can do.
Often the road will be rugged
And the hills insurmountable, too.
But always remember,
The hills ahead
Are never as steep as they seem,
And with Faith in your heart
Start upward
And climb 'til you reach your dream.
For nothing in life that is worthy
Is ever too hard to achieve
If you have the courage to try it,
And you have the faith to believe.
For faith is a force that is greater
Than knowledge or power or skill,
And many defeats turn to triumph
If you trust in God's wisdom and will.
For faith is a mover of mountains,
There's nothing that God cannot do,
So, start out today with faith in your heart,
And climb 'til your dream comes true!

Title: I want nothing.

By: welbyobeng

I want nothing.

I hope for nothing.

I dream nothing.

I fear nothing.

Therefore I'm free;

because is my wants, my hopes, my dreams, and my fears that enslaves me.

Title: Picture Frame

By: D3arsummer

It's crazy how things never stay the same; a family torn apart and deranged.
the picture on the wall remains- wishing they could be as they were in the frame.
with the realization that things must change- they each move on; still the picture on the wall remains.
the smiles are still present. mother, son, daughters, and even a father- a man.
but the frame collects dust- as does the family.
but the picture never dismays. it remains in the protection of the frame.
If only this family had a frame.

Title: sleepless nights

By: HazelPassion

Emotionaly drained. Phyiscally exhausted. How could it be possible to be to tired for self rejuvanating your temple . Your only gaurentee of onesself and thoughts. To much burden to carry ?Way to much thought to ponder a solution for your temporary stressor .. Whats the solution? Only if you knew .. There would be no sleepless nights.

Title: My Friend

By: Sammy Lane Sharp

We all need someone
To talk to in our life,
A friend to whom we run
In times of stress or strife

A friend who's always there
Throughout the years,
A friend we know will care
And take away our fears.

A friend who's always near,
Waiting for our call,
To wipe away our tears,
And lift us when we fall.

A loving friend indeed,
On whom we can depend
To fulfill our every need -
Thank you, precious friend

Title: A Simple Thank-You, My Friend

By: warmhrt

Into the dim lit, bare walls of my world,
You entered, bringing light and life to me,
The vivid colors, painted with a swirl
Of wit and charm, of personality,
With tender care, you added comfort, warmth,
And images that line the now bright walls.
I look upon them fondly, bringing forth
A thankfulness that you walk in these halls
With me; our friendship has become a part
Of my world now; it has its special place,
Within my being, life, and in my heart,
Your name hangs right beside your smiling face.
Rememb'ring just how drab these walls had been,
I have to thank you for the light, my friend.
