Title: "I" vs "We"

By: MissJoy88

-My "we" mentality has become "I" because looking back at time we use to speak of "we" to uplift our communities.

-But forget about our "Is which is self improvement in order to make a beneficial and productive movement.

-"We" have a movement within a movement or one may classify it as being "the" movement.

-Movement from struggle to relief or from pain to peace.

-So going back to the "we" there is and can not be a change until we look into the "I".

-"I" will not turn away from hope or success if laid on my door but will keep the door open for "we" can experience much more than what "I" did

-"We" can not make change if "I" do not start with "I".

-"We" focus on "we" and forget about contradiction of lifestyles due to the intended "we"s to match up with the

Title: Colorado

By: BoyWonderHD

I came out of the south by H.S. I was on that east side
Always followed my mom, backseat of each ride
Jumped to the passenger, I was old enough to do it
My views changed up, she looked at me and she knew it
She thought she blew it
When she sent me to that midwest
I saw the truth, the lies
Shit hit me about mid- chest
I was in denial
My outputs were inputting data I couldnt file
He stood and smiled
as if I was blinded and I couldnt see
Saw things an 11 yr old shouldnt see
It couldnt be
Fate played the record still
Ill seeing him spill from that peda-still
Chills
Like a pill whose intent was meant to kill
Forreal
What doesnt kill you make you stronger right?
Not me
What didnt kill me made down to fight
Strength was a by-product of my yearning to never again feel this way
No pain has ever matched to the hurt i felt that day.

Title: What to do?

By: BoyWonderHD

What to do?
Which way should I go?
Should i get a Job?
Or should I take the college road?
Ya see I need money now
Get a 9-5 and be a saver
But I know if I walk that stage my income can be greater later
So as I weigh the pros and cons and have my meeting of one
I think deep about both and which race I should run
Should I hop into the classroom and the late night cram sessions
or will I step out into the workforce and be taught life's lessons
Stressin'
Testin' the waters of employment
The the Army comes into play
You know where they deploy men
Never been a military man
My biological father was
but he left, you know
does what a biological father does
back to the topic, got to stay focused
Should I or shouldnt I not enlist in the armed forces
Now I dont really agree with the war we are engaged in
Throwing kids into the fight snatchin em out of the play pen
Now dont get me wrong
I have the utmost respect for our

Title: What A Dad Will Do For His Daughter

By: Cheryl D\'Aprix

What a Dad will do for his daughter is rock his sick baby girl
until the sun peeks through the darkness
letting him know the night of worry is over.

He will take her small hand in his and walk slowly as she takes her first
walk to the ice cream shop to share a cone full of heaven on earth.

He will sip from the tiny tea cup she has set in front of him
and in harmony with the stuffed animals carefully placed in their seats
he will sing the praises of her great hospitality.

He will sit through dance recitals and fashion shows
where he is the only audience
and will clap with the enthusiasm of a thousand people.

He will take her fishing and play soccer,
and introduce her to the world outside
as if just experiencing it for the first time himself.
Perhaps he is.

He will sit with her through sweat and tears over homework
that was supposed to be turned in the day before
and he'll smile as they finish, seeing her relief.

Title: Scared

By: Ron Carnell

Scared, she tried to calm the tears
of her seven-year old daughter.

"It's going to be okay," she lied,
as the dark men,
armed with knives and cold eyes,
herded passengers to the rear
of the half-empty plane.
Furtively, afraid to draw attention,
she breathed into a small ear,
"Please don't cry."

Scared, he forced his eyes from
the window to the photo on his desk.

Across the way, the tower
that mirrored his own
was adrift in flames,
dark clouds of billowing smoke
all but obscuring the
approaching, well aimed, plane.
"It's coming," he whispered to
his wife's smiling picture.

Scared, she flipped the channel
to yet another chronicle of chaos.

Their apartment was so close
she imagined she could smell the smoke,
though perhaps it was just a reflection
of the stinging argument they had
while he was dressing for work.
His office phone went unanswered,
his cell number refused to connect,
and still she mouthed

Title: Sisters

By: Psqahs

Why is it that sisters tease?
Can you tell me please?
They always make me cry
with one mean lie.
Why is it me,
They don't like to see?
All I did was love you!
Do you have no respect?
Or is it 'cause you have
to be perfect?

Title: No Tomorrow

By: Angel Towe

I am going to die tomorrow,
But yet I haven't been born.
My mother shows no sorrow,
For I am a product of love torn.

I will never see the light of day,
I will never smell a flower,
I will never walk along a waters bay,
Or feel the drop of an Aprils shower.

It hurts for no one to show me love,
I will never be hugged or kissed,
When I have gone to the heavens above,
I wonder if I will be missed.

Today is my last day to live,
My last thought, my last breath.
Just think of all I could give,
But tomorrow I'll be put to rest.
